Beloved Allison Langdon will be temporarily missing from her hosting seat on the A Current Affair program.
The young host joined the ACA family in January 2023, taking over veteran journalist Tracy Grimshaw. Now, the young mother of two will be taking some annual leave over the next couple of weeks.
Taking over Allison’s ACA hosting gig is none other than former 2GB radio host, Deborah Knight.
“In the @acurrentaffair9 hot seat for a couple of weeks while @allisonlangdon enjoys a break. Tune in!” Deborah penned on Instagram with a photo of her looking comfortable in the seat.
The transition is believed to be seamless given Deborah isn’t a stranger to the seat after hosting ACA on Saturdays.
It was only revealed in November that Deborah would be departing the 2GB radio program after four incredible years. Deborah, 50, told The Sydney Morning Herald she was “shattered” by the news; however, she won’t be leaving the company.
“I am stepping back as host of afternoons. I am not, however, leaving 2GB. In fact I’m taking on a new broader network role,” she said.
“I’ve been appointed to a new position as the new national host of Money News.”
The program was reportedly struggling with ratings after it dropped to 6 per cent market share after a 2023 high of 8.9 per cent.
Allison has not yet commented on her temporarily leave, but it’s presumed she will be taking time off during her children, Mack and Scout, school summer holidays.
The exact date in which Allison will return to ACA is yet to be confirmed.
