Eric Bana returns to Australia in Force of Nature: The Dry 2 to reprise his role as Aaron Falk, and we as viewers couldn’t help but wonder where the movie was filmed.
Based on the best-selling novels by Jane Harper, we follow detective Aaron Falk as he hunts for the truth. Meanwhile, we hunted for all the filming locations to add to our bucket-list.
Force of Nature: The Dry 2 Filming Locations
The most recent adventure for Aaron Falk saw the detective enter the lush green forest that knew no shelter from the chaotic Australian rain – a clear juxtaposition from the first film.
The cold, brutal and wet nature of The Dry 2 filming locations were crucial to the storyline where five women enter and only four women return, all with something to hide from the police.
Working alongside Eric in the new Aussie drama is Deborra-Lee Furness (Jill Bailey), Anna Torv (Alice), Sis Stringer (Beth), Robin McLeavy (Lauren), Lucy Ansell (Bree), Jacqueline McKenzie (Carmen) and Richard Roxburgh (Daniel Bailey).
Force of Nature was filmed in three primary locations in Victoria, Australia including the Yarra Valley and The Dandenongs which is just over an hour drive east from Melbourne city centre.
It was additionally filmed it Cape Otway which is more than a three-hour drive southwest from the Melbourne city centre. The location is known for its National Park, the Light station and the Great Ocean Road which passes through Otway.
The Dry Filming Locations
The first movie, The Dry was released in Australia on January 1, 2021, starring a collection of different stars including Genevieve O’Reilly (Gretchen), Keir O’Donnell (Raco), John Polson (Whitlam), Matthew Nable (Grant Dow), Bebe Bettencourt (Ellie Deacon) and many more.
Unlike the lush greenery of Force of Nature, we see Aaron return to his drought-stricken hometown to attend the funeral of his childhood friend, Luke, who has allegedly killed his wife and child before taking his own life.
But something doesn’t sit right with the Federal Agent, as he discovers this horrific murder could be connected to a murder decades ago.
The Dry filming locations centre in the quiet agricultural town, Beulah in the southern Mallee region. Surrounding the town is the Henty Highway, the banks of the Yarrimabiack Creek, Brim and Hopetoun.
