On December 20, 2024, The Block’s Dan Reilly and Dani Wales confirmed their daughter’s passing at just ten days old.
The pair took to Instagram to reveal her name was, Billie Vera Reilly, who was born on December 8 and passed on December 18.

Dan Reilly and Dani Wales first appeared on our screens more than a decade ago, on the 2012 season of The Block Australia.
Since then, the couple have solidified themselves as some of fans’ favourite contestants – so viewers will be excited to know that they’re now expecting their first child together!
Dan and Dani took to social media to share their exciting pregnancy news, where the couple posed with their beloved dogs Hazel and Olive alongside a pram. Dani, holding some ultrasound photos, wore an adorable double denim set that shows off her growing baby bump.
“So, who’s going to tell them the pram isn’t theirs?! Baby Reilly incoming late 2024,” they wrote.
Fellow The Block contestants flocked to the comment section to share their love and congratulations.
“Stunning news!! 😍 Can’t wait to meet baby Eliza / Elijah,” Eliza and Liberty wrote.
Meanwhile, Tess and Luke commented, “Amazinngggg news guys 🤎 very excited for you! Congratulations! Hope you’ve been feeling well xx”.
Sarah and George also shared their best wishes, writing, “Huge congratulations guys! The pups will be the little ones best friend 😍”, and Jimmy and Tam said, “Congrats guys, so exciting ❤️.”
When Dan and Dani appeared on The Block in 2012, they walked away with a life-changing $448,000, and they’ve remained familiar faces within the world of the much-loved renovation series.
They returned in 2013 for the All Stars series where they took home $220,000, and since then have become integral members of The Block.
Dan is still a Foreman on the show, and they host the Dan vs Dani series together where they critique each team’s Room Reveals every week.
The couple were married in 2018 after being together for nine years, and tied the knot in a beautiful intimate ceremony on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria.
Since then, Dan and Dani have continued sharing insights into their relationship – and their The Block experience – through both their social media pages as well as interviews.
“I have never really thought about what might have been [but] all I can think about, if anyone asks, is that The Block absolutely changed our lives. We will forever be indebted for them picking us,” Dani told Insider Style in 2017.
