Dating shows continue to be the flavour of the month, with networks clamouring over each other to commission more and more series (or revamp old ones).
And with Channel Seven recently announcing the return of Temptation Island, we’ve got the lowdown on everything to expect from the new series.
What is Temptation Island?
Billed as a “social experiment” Temptation Island takes four couples to an island paradise and houses them separately with a bunch of sexy singles. These singletons then aim to “tempt” them away from their relationships.
Seemingly a cross between Love Island and Married At First Sight, the show is designed to be the ultimate test of a relationship.
If the title sounds familiar, that’s because it is – the show aired its first and only season way back in 2002. There are many international versions however, including a revamped US incarnation which has scored record-breaking ratings for its network.
Michael Clarke’s wife Kyly – then known as Kyly Boldy – was a “temptress” on the original version.

How can you apply for Temptation Island?
Applications are now open online for couples wanting to test their fidelity. Producers are looking for couples in committed relationships but not married. Applicants must also be over 18 years old.
Questions include things like “Tell us a bit about your partner and your relationship” and “Are you with your ideal partner? Why?”
The couples picked will get an all-expenses-paid trip to a tropical destination.
Where is Temptation Island filmed?
The original Australian version was filmed in Fiji at Plantation Island Resort. Meanwhile, the most recent US version took place in Hawaii.
While Channel Seven hasn’t revealed the exact filming of the rebooted version, the casting call states “you must be available to film in a remote location”.
When will Temptation Island air?
No details have yet been released as to when it will air but the casting call states filming will take place in “September/October, 2019”.
The air date then depends on what type of format the show will take. If it airs within 24hours of the show being filmed like Love Island, the it will obviously air in September or October.
If Temptation Island is filmed and edited in advance like shows such as The Bachelor and Married At First Sight then it likely won’t air until next year.
