This is the All Stars season, which means some of your favourite old contestants will be coming back for a chance at redemption, competing against the new talent for the opportunity to be mentored by one of the the show’s four judges.

“This year we are bringing back the All Stars,” said Nine’s Head of Content Production and Development, Adrian Swift.

“Over the years brilliant singers have been knocked out of The Voice along the way. Sometimes they weren’t confident enough, sometimes it wasn’t their best performance the day they were on stage, so this year they’re coming back.

“We think this new dimension of the show will make it really interesting, seeing people you know and love from the past seven seasons of The Voice coming back to try and turn a chair again,” Swift said.

We’re also getting a brand-new judge, with pop singer Guy Sebastian joining last year’s coaches Delta Goodrem, Kelly Rowland and Boy George in the red spinning chairs.

The show is a natural fit for Guy, who found fame on the very first season of Australian Idol.

The ARIA Award-winner has since gone on to release multiple top 10 singles, represented Australian at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015, and he is the only Australian male artist in chart history to have six number one singles and two number one albums.

“I’m really pumped to join the panel of coaches on the new season of The Voice,” Guy said.

“Being a musician over the last 15 years has been an extremely fulfilling time. I love that I can share my experience with some new aspiring artists so we can inject some fresh talent into the music industry.

“I am really looking forward to representing Australia with the amazing Delta against the music history makers Kelly and George – what a way to start 2019!”
