Itโs set to be one of the most exciting shows to hit this year, and if the insane costumes are anything to go by, The Masked Singer will not disappoint.
The show already has a star-studded line-up (even before the celebrities under the masks have been revealed), with the likes of superstars Dannii Minogue, Lindsay Lohan, Jackie O, Dave Hughes and Osher Gunsberg at the helm โ but thereโs one more behind-the-scenes, who is just as famous in his own right.
And that is costume designer, Tim Chappel.
While The Masked Singer is his most current project, Tim is most famous for winning an Academy Award, a BAFTA and an Australian Film Institute award (AFI) for his costume design for the feature ๏ฌlm The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
The incredibly talented designer also won a Tony Award for Best Costume Design in a musical and has since gone on to design for a multitude of other projects including the feature film Miss Congeniality starring Sandra Bullock and The Little Shop of Horrors on Broadway.
Now, in an exclusive interview with Now to Love, Tim reveals the process behind the incredible new costumes and spills on the fact that heโs one of the only people in the country who actually knows who is behind the masks.

First: โWe designed all the costumes before it was cast.โ And then also that the celebrities got to choose which mask they would wear.
โIt was really interesting because the ones [the celebrities] who got in early had a wider pick but weirdly enough, everybody ended up with exactly the right costume.
โBecause it either worked for their personality, or worked totally against who they are.โ
These A-List celebrities have been shrouded in secrecy, with even host Osher not knowing who they were until the big reveal.
But for the celebs โ who are not necessarily professional singers โ the elaborate costumes gave them free reign to do as they pleased.
โIt was so fun to watch them put their costumes on because most of them, once they got into costume, were like: โOh My God, Iโm not me anymore. I can do what I want.โ
โThey were totally free because no one knew who they were and theyโd really personify the characters.โ
