Deanne and Daz Jolly were a fiery couple from the get-go, but one moment in particular caused jaws to drop in Season 9. The pair received criticism for one of their rooms from judge Shaynna Blaze. After hearing the feedback, Dee let loose on camera.

“You’re a bogan from Wantirna, and you’ve got no idea, and I’d out-style you any day,” Dee said of the judge.

Dee isn’t the only contestant to hurl insults at judge Shaynna Blaze after receiving criticism.

Carleen Foley made a similar comment two years later, in 2016. She labelled Shaynna an “absolute bogan from nowhere,” after receiving a poor score for her guest bedroom and walk-in-wardrobe.

Daz confronted Tim and Anastasia in 2011, after their tradesman allegedly complained to Daz’s plasterer about not being paid.

Anastasia decided to ‘quit’ the competition, making quite a show of exiting the competition… but not for long. She later returned, and herself and Tim collected an impressive $755,000 at auction.

All the way back in 2004, it was discovered that Blockheads Jason and Kirsten were leaving the site to sleep in their own beds in their nearby home. The other Blockheads were NOT impressed by this, and broke in to the couple’s apartment to paint the windows, and leave a message.

A tense encounter between three contestants led to a nasty insult in Season 11. Whitney approached Suzi and Vonni, to try and clear the air after an incident, but her plan backfired when Suzi refused to listen to the apology.

Eventually, Suzi hurled the insult ‘have another burger darling’ at Whitney. Vonni later said she was shocked by her friend’s words. Whitney also shared that she was disappointed.

“For a lady that’s her mid-50s with children, you would think she would be a little bit more mature than to stoop to that level and pick on someone about their weight,” Whitney said.

2017 winners Josh and Elyse famously feuded with rivals Ronnie and Georgia. The rivalry came to a head, when Ronnie and Georgia were the only team who refused to give permission for Josh and Elyse to begin working on their pool before landscape week.

Josh called the pair ‘pork chops,’ while fellow contestant Jason told the couple they were being ‘nasty’.

The decision didn’t hinder Josh and Elyse, however, who ended up becoming the first The Block team to complete an in-ground pool in a week.
