Oozing confidence and promising to “blow everyone’s mind”, it’s little wonder fans of The Block have dubbed Sara and Hayden “the next Ronnie and Georgia”.
And just like their predecessors, the NSW couple are rubbing their fellow contestants up the wrong way.
“Sara and Hayden are very different to us,” says rival contestant, netballer Bianca.
“They’re highly emotive. If Sara is angry, she’s angry. If she’s OK, she’s OK. We’re a bit more level-headed. We hear them yelling at each other all the time – they just say whatever comes to their heads.”

Kerrie, who is competing on the show with her husband Spence, adds, “This year everyone’s getting along. Out of the four other couples, there are three we’d happily work with. We don’t really have a lot to do with Hayden and Sara – they keep to themselves. I don’t know how community-minded they are.”
Insiders say it’s only going to get more explosive when mum-of-one Sara threatens to quit the show and clashes with producers.
The brunette, 31, even causes a stir on site this week, confronting Bianca, 36, and Carla, 35, about their plumbing, and how it’s holding up her and 45-year-old Hayden’s progress in their own apartment.
With tensions running high, Sara blows up at Foreman Dan, and accuses him of yelling in her face. With her tail between her legs, she later apologises for her behaviour.
Meanwhile, Scotty Cam admits he is forced to have a “stern” word with one contestant during filming – and viewers can only assume it’s Sara who’s in the firing line.
“There are times when I think contestants are out of line and in this one there’s a moment where I need to have a very stern talking to someone,” explains the TV star.
“We don’t try to do the villain thing – they do that themselves without any help from us. We don’t manufacture anything. It happens organically.”
