After weeks of coming close on The Block, but never quite managing a win, Queenslanders Jenny and Dylan were starting to worry.
“Imagine if we went the whole way through The Block and didn’t win a room,” Jenny 25, tells TV WEEK. “That would be so embarrassing.”
But just as they were convinced it would never happen, the couple took out first place in one of the reality series’ toughest challenges: Hallway Week.
“We thought we were out of the running again because we hadn’t finished everything,” apprentice carpenter Jenny says. “But then when we heard other teams were in the same boat, it was, ‘Hello! We could be in with a chance here.’

(Image: Nine)“You can see how excited I was to win when I ran up and hugged Scotty Cam after he announced it. It showed us we can do it… so now we want to win again!”
This week, she and builder fiancé Dylan are out to repeat that victory with their guest room, which she’ll be styling as a children’s nursery.
Jenny admits it’s a “bit of a practice run” for a kids’ room she and Dylan hope to build one day and says it will include several ideas the pair have been kicking around for a long time.
“l worked in childcare, so I have a few plans up my sleeve to make things creative and fun,” she explains.

(Image: Nine)“If I can get everything I want in there, we can get the win again. “Coming in a week when the contestants are trying to clean their mud-filled homes for the upcoming Domain listings party, it’s a massive challenge, but one the two tradies are happy to take on.
“We always put in our best for every room, and the hallway win showed we can get there,” Jenny says. “It would be nice to get a few more wins under our belt before The Block comes to an end.”
