The Block fans are in for a treat ahead of Sunday’s finale auction night!
Scott Cam has confirmed that his beloved canine companion Frankie will be on hand to provide some morale support to contestants as they watch their homes go under the hammer, in news that is sure to delight viewers.
When Frankie was first introduced in the season premiere, she was quick to steal the show, and viewers’ hearts at home.
Born for the spotlight, it’s no wonder that fame hasn’t gotten to her head, or has it?
”I bought her a new kennel because she requested a bigger bedroom, you know?” Scotty joked to 9Entertainment.
”No [all jokes aside] she needed a new kennel. She sleeps outside, old Frankie. That’s what we do with all our dogs. She is allowed inside, but at night, she goes outside and patrols and does her job.”
In what may come as a surprise to fans of the show, Frankie hasn’t been hired as a ‘show dog’ for the show but is in real life Scotty’s family dog, having been rescued from the RSPCA in Yagoona, where the veteran host also adopted his previous dogs, Rosie and Lizzie from.
”400 bucks for the best dog you’ll ever get in your life,” Scotty said of his rescue pups.
Given that Scotty has picked up all three of his dogs from the same place, it’s no surprise he’s remembered by the staff.
”There was one lady there at RSPCA, because we got Frankie three years ago, and she said, ‘Oh, Scotty, you’re back. I see you every 15 years’ – she’s been working there for 35 years.”
According to Scotty, Frankie’s time in the spotlight hasn’t ended yet, confirming that his furry friend will be featured in the upcoming finale.
“She’s going to be sitting on the couch beside me on her own chair, I reckon. I’ll get a nice miniature couch for her to sit on,” he said.
Whilst everyone who knows and loves Frankie knows what a good girl she is, Scotty admitted that she too was anxious about the impending auctions.
”She’s very nervous, she told me last night,” Scotty jokes.
Whether or not Frankie will return to the 2023 season of The Block is still up in the air, but one thing is for sure, the fans (and Scotty) are keen to see it happen.
”I’d like to bring her back. I think the people at home would like to see her back,” he said.
