As the only non-builders on The Block, Ankur and Sharon have struggled from the start.

The only thing keeping them going has been the support of their build team and Scott Cam, but when that disappears, the couple are left with a question – is it time to quit?

It all comes to a head this week when the exhausted pair decide to stop off on the way home from a challenge and have a sleep away from the hectic Block site.

It’s a decision that doesn’t impress their trades and when Scott Cam and Shelley Craft left the pair know how their builders are feeling, Sharon and her husband are left wondering if they should find a new team… or just leave.

“When Scotty and Shelly told us they weren’t happy during the walkthrough we were completely blindsided as they (our builders) were not honest with us,” Sharon, 35, tells TV WEEK.

Even worse, she adds, was the way Scott chose to tell of the problem.

“We were shocked by not only the information communicated to us but also the aggressively harsh way in which Scotty communicated it to us and his demeanour in doing so,” Sharon, 35, tells TV WEEK.

“We felt ambushed by production as we asked for support and it wasn’t forth given, but rather we were chastised like children in a publicly humiliating fashion in front of about 30 trades!

“It felt cruel, and we felt exploited and betrayed for the show, so yes we seriously considered not coming back for our mental health.”

Sharon and Ankur have had a turbulent time on the show after initially coming under under fire during a challenge which saw the teams recreate a wine from Levantine Hill winery by tasting and mixing several wines together.

The couple won $50,000 of wine to increase the value of their home after they cheated and Googled the tasting notes.

Ankur and Sharon denied they cheated, arguing there were no rules saying they couldn’t look the wine up online. But on the day of the challenge, the couple were caught repeatedly lying to the other couples.

The cheating scandal caused uproar among The Block viewers and their fellow contestants.
