Channel Nine producers are going back to what they’re known for on The Block 2023, as proven by this seasons filming location.
The renovation series returned in August and after last year’s devastating auction night results, the network have decided to leave the country for a more populated location.
TV Tonight first discovered The Block filming location when Bobcats and Skips were spotted on Charming Street in the family-friendly neighbourhood of Hampton East. Just 35 minutes out of Melbourne’s city centre.
Micjoy Pty Ltd, Channel Nine’s production company, purchased five homes for $14.3 million. Including 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22 on Charming St between June 29 and July 1.
Traveling back in time to these once charming homes in the 1950s, will the Blockheads transform the blocks back to their former glory?
Hopefully the decision to return to the city will help the contestants overcome last year’s slump.
While located in rural Gisborne, The Block 2022 saw two houses pass in on auction night.
Only the winners, Oz and Omar reaped the benefits of the competition after walking away with a staggering total profit of $1.6 million.
Rachel and Ryan’s total profit was $169,000. Meanwhile Sarah-Jane and Tom walked away with only $20,000 and sold their $80,000 Ford Ranger in order to make ends meet.
Sharon and Ankur sold their home a few days after the auction aired on television, walking away with a $170,000 profit.
Dylan and Jenny only sold their home in February 2023, three months after auction night and their profit remains unclear.
Watch The Block on Monday to Wednesday 7.30pm and Sundays 7.00pm on Nine and 9Now.
