When gorgeous blonde nurse Elly Miles was announced as Australia’s first joint Bachelorette last week, along with her lookalike sister Becky, Australian reality TV fans let out a collective cheer.
The 25-year-old made a lasting impression when she sauntered onto our screens during Matt Agnew’s season of The Bachelor last year, with her kind heart and not-here-for-the-drama vibes.
But while we were thrilled at the announcement, there was a strange silence from Elly.
It’s common practice for the new Bachelor or Bachelorette to announce the news on their personal Instagram accounts, along with the first promo photo released by Channel Ten and a short caption hinting at their excitement at the upcoming season.
Yet Elly was oddly quiet on Instagram when the network revealed her new role.

She didn’t repost Ten’s promo pic of herself and Becky, nor she did address the announcement at all, instead remaining silent.

“Maxo relaxo. This is where you’ll find me all Summer long 😝☀️💦,” she captioned her post.
And just a few days ago, Elly posted another beach snap, where she can be seen going for a walk alongside the ocean.
In perhaps a telling caption, Elly wrote alongside that photo, “Manifest ✨”.
A hint at her future on The Bachelorette, perhaps?

But Elly’s fans weren’t silent, with hundreds taking to the comments section to express their excitement over her casting as the Bachelorette.
“Can’t wait to see you on the Bachelorette!!,” one fan wrote, while another said, “Soo happy to see that you are the bachelorette!!”

This was the first photo Elly posted after Ten announced the news, with the caption, “manifest”.

When she first starred on The Bachelor last year, Elly said she was looking for a man who is family-oriented, humble and wants to travel the world.
