Bachelor Australia star Abbie has revealed the real reason behind signing up for the hit dating show.

Talking to TV WEEK, the property analyst says she initially signed up to dating app Tinder to find love – only to find out she’d been banned.

Abbie says Matt gave her a great first impression.

“I’d been blocked and reported somehow,” she explains. “I’d only gone on one Tinder date. I have no idea what happened. So I thought the next best thing is The Bachelor!”

Abbie has already become known as the girl who mistook Matt’s profession for an astrologer on one of the show’s early promos.

She told him she was a Gemini when he revealed he was an astrophysicist.

But Abbie wants to set the record straight on her red carpet blunder.

“It was a joke!” she laughs. “I know what an astrophysicist is! My sister said to just ask him his star sign if I get nervous. So when I heard him say what he did, I just thought it was perfect.

“I know the way it’s edited makes it seem like Matt didn’t think it was funny, but he did!”

Abbie’s says Matt made a great first impression.

“Obviously he’s gorgeous,” she says. “I remember being so excited, because he could actually talk. He was really funny, really sweet and a good person.”
