Heartbroken The Block: Tree Change contestants Sharon and Ankur have officially sold their property, after it failed to attract a bid at the televised auctions.

It was bought for $4.25M by Adrian Portelli, resulting in a profit of $170,000 above the reserve price.

The controversial couple, who at one point judge Scott Cam didn’t think would finish their house, had their property passed in at auction after it failed to attract any bids above the reserve price.

And whilst at the time, the lack of sale proved stressful for the pair, it may have been a blessing in disguise.

According to Sharon, a former actress on Neighbours, they were in the process of fielding offers from private buyers and exploring all their options in recent days, before it was purchased by Portelli, who drew controversy for bidding on Omar and Oz’s house in recent days..

Portelli announced on Instagram Friday that he plans to raffle Ankur and Sharon’s house off, a divisive investment strategy that is increasing in popularity.

”We’re having two new buyers; we’ve had one already and another one coming in to see the property,” she told A Current Affair reporter Seb Costello.

The Domain listing describes the property as a ”magnificent” home on a ”superior” block, with panoramic views of the surrounding Macedon Ranges.

”This property offers the best of everything. Step inside the immaculately resorted Victorian era home and delight at the high ceilings, grand proportions and elegant period details,” the listing continues.

With a price guide of $4 – $4.4m, and an auction reserve of $4.08m, the couple now have the opportunity to secure a bigger payday to not only take home for themselves, but recoup the major investment the nine network made into the property.

Season winners Omar and Oz have been ostracized from fellow castmates following their record breaking $1.6m win, but despite the vastly different auction results, and ongoing controversy amid rumours of dummy bidding, both Sharon and Ankur say their friendship with the pair was another positive point to take away from their Block experience.

”We’re the only ones that are friends with all the couples,” Sharon told the Herald Sun.

”No one else is really talking to the boys [Omar and Oz] and haven’t been for some time; they’ve had issues for ages, but we’re fine.”

As the dust still settles, Sharon also revealed to the Daily Mail that alongside her husband, they were looking forward to getting out of Melbourne and ”clearing their heads.”

”We need a holiday. We’re a hundred percent going to take a break and then reevaluate what we want to do next year.”

”I think what we are going to try to do is go back to South Australia, where we are from, and spend time on the family farm in the vineyards and just have a good time.”

Boasting five spacious bedrooms, a heated pool, four car garage, home office with a wood fireplace, gym, edible garden and more, we are sure this self described ”ultimate lifestyle property” will sell in no time for sure.
