Dancing With The Starsโ€™ Paulini Curuenavuli is tired โ€“ and not just from the intense training sheโ€™s been putting in for the show! โ€œI am so tired of talking about the gold dress,โ€ she laughs. โ€œIโ€™m sick of it.โ€

And the 40-year-old singer says it wasnโ€™t her idea to give the look she made famous on Australian Idol in 2003 a spin on DWTS โ€“ but it has followed her around ever since judge Ian โ€œDickoโ€ Dickson urged her to โ€œshed some poundsโ€.

โ€œHell no,โ€ she tells Womanโ€™s Day. โ€œIf it was up to me, I would never, ever wear a gold dress again.โ€

DWTS is an experience sheโ€™d do over and over, though. โ€œIโ€™m obsessed with this show,โ€ says Paulini.

โ€œMy goal in this was to have fun because Iโ€™ve been wanting to be on it for ages.โ€

In fact, she laughs, โ€œOne year I approached them and I said, โ€˜Look, you know, Iโ€™m available.โ€™ And they were like, โ€˜Nah, weโ€™re good.'โ€

But now sheโ€™s finally scored the gig, the former Young Diva has been impressing both viewers and judges with her moves.

โ€œI think you learn so much when youโ€™re under pressure,โ€ adds the star, who admits sheโ€™s surprised herself.

โ€œI thought Iโ€™d be out the first week,โ€ she says.

HER MYSTERY MAN

Pauliniโ€™s boyfriend, who she wonโ€™t name, is her biggest fan.

โ€œHeโ€™s the handsome big guy cheering me on in the audience,โ€ she shares.

โ€œHeโ€™s basically my bodyguard,โ€ she laughs.

The fact that sheโ€™s no longer single means Paulini has been able to rule out another of her reality show ambitions, appearing on The Bachelorette.

โ€œIโ€™m very happy,โ€ she says of her romance.

Of course, the other main man in her life in recent months has been her dance partner, Igor Ifliand.

โ€œIf it wasnโ€™t for him, I donโ€™t think Iโ€™d have gotten as far as I did,โ€ she says of the professional dancer.

RELENTLESS PRACTICE

Paulini admits the experience on the show has been โ€œharder than I expectedโ€.

โ€œI didnโ€™t think Iโ€™d have to spend that many hours going over routines and learning techniques,โ€ she tells Womanโ€™s Day.

โ€œIt was a massive shock to my system.โ€

Pauliniโ€™s a woman who loves a challenge though, and she already has her eye on the next one!

The star says sheโ€™d โ€œabsolutelyโ€ love to be a judge on the rebooted Australian Idol if it returns next year.

โ€œIโ€™ve got a lot of constructive criticism that Iโ€™d like to share with the people,โ€ jokes Paulini, who says she hasnโ€™t been approached โ€“ yet.

โ€œThey havenโ€™t [reached out], unfortunately,โ€ she says. โ€œThey should, though!โ€
