Dancing With The Starsโ Paulini Curuenavuli is tired โ and not just from the intense training sheโs been putting in for the show! โI am so tired of talking about the gold dress,โ she laughs. โIโm sick of it.โ
And the 40-year-old singer says it wasnโt her idea to give the look she made famous on Australian Idol in 2003 a spin on DWTS โ but it has followed her around ever since judge Ian โDickoโ Dickson urged her to โshed some poundsโ.
โHell no,โ she tells Womanโs Day. โIf it was up to me, I would never, ever wear a gold dress again.โ

Pauliniโs gold dress made its debut on Australian Idol.

โMy goal in this was to have fun because Iโve been wanting to be on it for ages.โ
In fact, she laughs, โOne year I approached them and I said, โLook, you know, Iโm available.โ And they were like, โNah, weโre good.'โ
But now sheโs finally scored the gig, the former Young Diva has been impressing both viewers and judges with her moves.
โI think you learn so much when youโre under pressure,โ adds the star, who admits sheโs surprised herself.
โI thought Iโd be out the first week,โ she says.

Pauliniโs boyfriend, who she wonโt name, is her biggest fan.
โHeโs the handsome big guy cheering me on in the audience,โ she shares.
โHeโs basically my bodyguard,โ she laughs.
The fact that sheโs no longer single means Paulini has been able to rule out another of her reality show ambitions, appearing on The Bachelorette.
โIโm very happy,โ she says of her romance.
Of course, the other main man in her life in recent months has been her dance partner, Igor Ifliand.
โIf it wasnโt for him, I donโt think Iโd have gotten as far as I did,โ she says of the professional dancer.

Paulini admits the experience on the show has been โharder than I expectedโ.
โI didnโt think Iโd have to spend that many hours going over routines and learning techniques,โ she tells Womanโs Day.
โIt was a massive shock to my system.โ
Pauliniโs a woman who loves a challenge though, and she already has her eye on the next one!
The star says sheโd โabsolutelyโ love to be a judge on the rebooted Australian Idol if it returns next year.
โIโve got a lot of constructive criticism that Iโd like to share with the people,โ jokes Paulini, who says she hasnโt been approached โ yet.
โThey havenโt [reached out], unfortunately,โ she says. โThey should, though!โ
