This year, all eyes will be on Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins as he embarks on his quest for love on this year’s season of The Bachelor Australia.

But speaking to The Daily Telegraph, the former rugby star admitted that while he was excited for the show to air, filming was “extremely weird.”

“We live in a pretty strange world but if you can be yourself, people either like you or they hate you and I feel that I am a fairly chilled out rooster and I did myself to be myself.”

“I don’t know how it is going to come across but I hope people enjoy it.”

But the 30 year-old Bachelor leading man is making an effort to not spill the beans and share too many secrets of what’s to come.

“It is pretty basic, just don’t say much.”

“The less you say, the less you get your knickers in a bloody knot. It seems strange but yes, it is all under the radar because who wants to spoil the fun. It is going to be a cracking show I reckon. There are a lot of funny points and I am looking forward to watching it.”

Let’s hope he doesn’t get caught out on the red carpet at this year’s Logie Awards.

In the lead-up to the show’s first promo that will air tonight, The Bachelor producers also teased us with a series of photos on the show’s Instagram story. And it’s looking a little bit saucy as the last shot features Honey Badger (we’re taking a wild guess here) soaping up in a bubble bath.

Come on Channel 10, put us out of our misery and tell us when the premiere date is!
