If you’ve been watching The Bachelor on Network Ten, you may have noticed just a few promos for the upcoming new reality show The Masked Singer Australia.
With the premiere imminent and the teasers coming in hot, you could say we’re pretty excited for this one – and not just aboutLindsay Lohan’s appearance – because this is a show that attracts legit A-grade celebrities.
The Masked Singer is already screened in eight countries around the world (with 10 more adding their own version to their rota, including Australia) and the franchise has drawn in some massive celeb names, including the winner and runner-up of the US version, T-Pain and Donny Osmond.
But in May of 2018, South Korea (where the franchise originated from) brought in the big guns – with none other than global superstar Ryan Reynolds performing for the crowd.
Donning a glorious, glittery unicorn mask, Ryan performed Tomorrow from the hit musical, Annie, while he was promoting Deadpool.

After watching the above clip about a bazillion times, it’s safe to say it really has whet our appetite for the upcoming Aussie version which has yet to get a premiere date.
Network Ten have described the show (which has half a billion fans worldwide) as having “bonkers performances, mind-bending clues and insane reveals.”
“With mystery celebrities coming from Australia and around the world to perform, the panel must use their combined showbiz know-how to unravel who is behind the mask. And did we mention that not all of the celebrities are singers? Yep, better make that guessing pool a little bit wider. Your favourite singer’s claim to fame could be from another field altogether.”

Who is behind the Aussie unicorn?
(Source: Network Ten)An all-star line up of panellists was, well, unmasked recently, with Lindsay Lohan (yes, the same Lindsay Lohan of Mean Girls, The Parent Trap and Freaky Friday) joining the Australian series, alongside fellow superstar panellist Danni Minogue, Jackie O and Dave Hughes.
Hosting the show, fresh from the Bachie mansion is Osher Günsberg – and we can’t wait!
The Masked Singer will see 12 celebrities take the stage hidden beneath bizarre disguises. The panel of industry experts take a handful of clues and the sound of the celebrity’s voice to try figure and out who is behind the mask.
“The Masked Singer is an incredible show that already has fans around the world,” Dannii told TV WEEK.
“I love the music, drama of the costumes, the fun of guessing the performers, and most of all the tension when the performer is revealed.
“It is the first singing show that is voted on performance alone, till the very end. There is so much secrecy about the performers, that I think this show will be a hot ticket – my friends are already trying to get an audience seat!”
