International cricket superstar Brett Lee was unveiled as the Parrot on The Masked Singer on Tuesday night, but him appearing on the show wasnโ€™t the only surprise we were in for.

In an interview with Now to Love after the unmasking, Brett revealed that he and his wife Lana, had in fact, welcomed a new addition to their family โ€“ a baby boy.

The bub is a sibling to Brettโ€™s other children, Preston and Helena, and is just 13-weeks-old.

โ€œFor me, Iโ€™m actually a very private person away from all this,โ€ he said, revealing the reason he decided not to announce the birth publicly.

โ€œSo, I havenโ€™t even told anyone the name.โ€

The proud father-of-three also shared a hilarious anecdote about another one of his children and spoke about his three-and-a-half-year-old daughter Helena watching him be unmasked on-screen.

โ€œShe knows all of the words to Whatโ€™s My Scene,โ€ Brett said. โ€œThe last couple of months Iโ€™ve been around the house and Iโ€™ve obviously been practising and been really mindful who was in the house when Iโ€™m singing the song.

โ€œShe knows all of the words and as soon as the song came on [last night], the first chord โ€“ she loves music, I play guitar for her all the time โ€“ and she knew it straight away. She said: โ€˜Thatโ€™s daddyโ€™s song!โ€™

โ€œBut she freaked out when the head came off because she thought the parrot had died.โ€

While she may have been just a little traumatised, Helena insisted on watching it again on Wednesday morning.

Both of Brettโ€™s older children love music, with Brett insisting โ€œall households should have a pianoโ€. And as for Brettโ€™s son Preston, 12, heโ€™s following in his fatherโ€™s footsteps more than in one way.

โ€œHe actually plays guitar and plays cricket,โ€ Brett revealed. โ€œIโ€™ve never pushed him into anything. I think with having kids, and having three kids now, youโ€™ve actually got to give them opportunity and my parents never pushed me into cricket, which I thanked them for.

โ€œMy parents just gave me opportunities and gave me a chance. My daughter loves music. I pay guitar for them at home all the time and everyone loves it. So itโ€™s up to them whether they want to choose to go down that road and pick it up.โ€

If you were keeping an eye on all of the clues, you may have heard the clue: โ€œWhat I do, others find terrifying.โ€

We asked Brett if this was referring to the world watching him on an International cricket stage, the incredible time he became a Bollywood star or The Masked Singer.

โ€œAll of them!โ€ he said. โ€œWell bowling to me came most easiest, because thatโ€™s what I had done my whole life and that feels most comfortable, but I would definitely put this [The Masked Singer] on par with facing Shoaib Akhtar, who was one of the worldโ€™s quickest bowlers at the WACA, which is one of the quickest pitches; on par with walking out in front of a large studio audience in a six-foot parrot suit with a poor field of vision.

โ€œIt was quite scary.โ€
