Melissa’s outgoing and bubbly nature has made her a viewer favourite on MAFS. But the talent manager says she found it tough watching herself on the show, because she was the “biggest” she’s ever been.
“I hadn’t realised how much weight I’d put on until I watched my wedding,” Melissa, 38, tells TV WEEK. “I was like, ‘Oh, my God – I look pregnant.’ And my face was huge. It was alarming to see.”

Melissa, who is married to meditation coach Dino, says the stress of appearing on the show made her pile on the kilos ahead of filming.
“I wasn’t sleeping properly, so my body clock was out of whack,” she explains. “I was eating a lot, and often at 11pm. I put on weight because of it.”
Now, Melissa is back to what she calls her “normal weight”.
“Being on the show helped because we were really active and doing so much,” she says. “I never stand on the scales – I usually judge by my clothes.
“I noticed I couldn’t fit into some of them, but by the end of the show I was back to my normal weight.”

Melissa calls herself a “tomboy”, but says she regrets not making more of an effort with her appearance during the filming of MAFS.
“The other girls looked immaculate all the time,” she says. “But I was myself and it didn’t make me think more or less of myself at the time.”
