For bride Joanne, her Married At First Sight experience is all about her three sons.
The Victorian-based barber, 39, reveals that after a particularly nasty break-up with her ex-partner, with whom she shares sons Cayden, 12, Ryder, 11, and Mackai, four, she is after someone her boys can look up to.
“They were so used to having a father figure, so I thought it was time for that,” Joanne tells Woman’s Day.

While seeing their mother on TV would no doubt be daunting for them, Joanne says they’re proud of her for being open to love after going through a tough split.
“It was just so awful because he made me believe we were still going to be together… I still feel sick when I have to see him,” she says.
“It took me a while to get over the anger and the hurt from that relationship, and I didn’t throw myself into a new relationship either, because I didn’t want to transfer that hurt onto somebody new.
“I really needed to work on bettering myself.”
Now after being single for three years, Joanne is ready for a man who will complete her family, but he’ll have to tick off a few boxes…
“I want a typical Aussie bloke and I made sure I requested someone with height and hair,” she laughs.
“I’m a barber, I can’t have a bald husband!”
