Don’t worry about the weddings, we can skip through the honeymoons, because when watching Married At First Sight Australia the part of the show that you’re really here for are the dinner parties.

And in the 2023 season we’ve just been served (get it?) the first dinner party episode, and with 10 couples attending, you just know it will be rife with drama.

As the newlyweds convene for the first time since meeting at the hens and bucks parties, it gives them a chance to analyse the other couples in the experiment, learn of any drama that happened during the weddings and honeymoons, and, for those that have the balls, call out certain bride or grooms on their behaviour.

It’s a MAFS dinner party, cue the shocked expressions.

And calling out there was, with Harrison in the firing line.

In episode one of season 10 we witnessed the marriage between tradie Harrison and online beauty educator Bronte.

They both seemed to be quite into each other, and the wedding was going smoothly until a friend of Bronte’s pulled her aside to let her know some information she had on her new hubby.

It turns out Harrison had been dating someone for the past month and a half right up until he left for filming.

Text messages showed that Harrison has told this ‘other woman’ that he will be returning to her after the show ends.

This leads to Bronte understandably confronting Harrison. His response? “I was seeing a number of girls before this. I was a single guy in Sydney.”

After the bombshell was dropped Bronte put on a brave face at her wedding to Harrison.

After some further grovelling, Bronte appeared to forgive Harrison.

And that could have been the end of that, but, as you would expect, the whole saga came up at the table during the first dinner party.

Harrison plays it down again, using the ‘I was single before I came in here’ excuse again and then turning it back on the ‘friend’ of Bronte’s, excusing her of lying for fame.

For some reason, the whole table believes his story… except for one headstrong bride.

This is where business owner Melinda comes in, saying to the camera, “I definitely think there’s more to this story, I just don’t trust him, I don’t think she should trust him just yet.”

She begins questioning Harrison, pushing him further on the details and pulling apart his excuses.

Melinda called out Harrison for dating someone right up until filming, saying if he was dating around so much before the show then he had no need to come on the show, as he could clearly find love without needing to enter the experiment.

Melinda didn’t buy Harrison’s bulls**t.

Harrison obviously didn’t enjoy being challenged, saying to camera, “I don’t appreciate being attacked like that.”

But the points Melinda made struck a chord with Bronte, as she begun to realise that his excuses weren’t quite air-tight.

This resulted in Bronte voicing her concerns with Harrison at the dinner table, which Harrison continued to shut down.

We can only hope that the upcoming ‘confessions’ week will result in some actual truth from Harrison… but we’re not holding our breath.
