Despite being the youngest matches in Married At First Sight Australia, Ollie and Tahnee are one of the strongest couples this season.
The pair were beaming as they said “I do”, but during the wedding reception some guests from either families recognised the couple to be distant relatives!
No one could have guessed their related.

“Tahnee’s sister’s husband is Ollie’s second cousin,” a source revealed to Yahoo Lifestyle as the season started airing.

“Although they’re not blood-related or anything like that, technically they are distant relatives in a weird way. A lot of the cast would joke about it.”
The pair have laughed the news off.
(Image: Nine)Despite the awkward coincidence, Ollie and Tahnee have made light of their situation and often joke about it along with their fellow contestants on-set. However, the insider revealed Channel Nine is unlikely to include this storyline in the final edit in order to avoid scandalous headlines.
“They laughed about this a few times during filming, but it probably won’t be aired as Channel Nine won’t want people spinning it into an incest-style headline scandal,” the insider said.
And now, a few weeks later Tahnee has shared additional details about the ”wild coincidence”, including how her and hubbie Ollie found out about their distanct family relation.
”At the wedding, obviously the two families were seperated,” she told Yahoo Lifestyle.
”Ollie’s mum looked over and she saw my sister’s fiance Jasper and she said, ‘I know you! Your dad is my cousin!’
”And then she started freaking out being like, what if the bride is Jasper’s sister? Because then we’d literally be blood related. She was going up to producers being like, ‘Is that guy blood related to the bride because we’re going to have an issue if so.”
Being distant relatives by marriage certainly hasn’t stopped Ollie and Tahnee from jumping on the love train after being spotted holding hands and kissing while walking around Bondi Beach.
”I saw it as a really good omen,” Tahnee told Yahoo Lifestyle.
”I was like, if Ollie’s family is anything like Jasper’s family we’re sweet!”
Prior to filming MAFS, Ollie resided in Perth and now it is suspected he is crashing at his partner’s place. He is absolutely smitten!
“Once filming wrapped in December, Ollie never really returned to Perth and has been living with Tahnee ever since,” the source told Yahoo Lifestyle.
After the conflict and drama surrounding all the other MAFS 2023 couples, we hoping these two Gen-X lovers can make the distance.
