The first trailer for Married At First Sight 2019 has been revealed, and in true form, it hasn’t come without some big surprises.
As the Channel Nine series gears up to kick off at the end of January, the new teaser reveals some of the contestants who will be saying “I do” on the popular reality show.
Staying true to the show’s dramatic nature, the trailer shows the dashing grooms rushing to meet their brides in a vast maze as Never Enough, a song from the hit musical The Greatest Showman, plays in the background.
But it was the familiar faces seen in the video that really had us ogling.
Among the new cast are some very familiar faces including Professional cricketer Cameron Merchant, Home and Away extra Sam Ball and First Dates star Dino Hira.
And of all the new personalities, it’s Sam that really steals the show.
In the teaser, he says: “I’m looking for that missing piece in my life. I’m ready, I’m definitely ready.”
Let the drama unfold!
Meanwhile, Dino Hira, who was previously unlucky in love on First Dates, is in for a second chance in the new series – and probably a boost to his 10,000 strong following on social media.
Back in September, it was revealed cricketer Cameron Merchant would also be joining the cast, with the brunette said to be marrying redhead Julie Robinson.
The Daily Mail reported that sparks instantly flew between the pair, who shared an affectionate kiss at their wedding ceremony in Sydney’s Centennial Park.
The pair reportedly then spent the night flirting and laughing together.
Cameron played cricket for Australia before heading to New Zealand where he played first class cricket for Northern Districts.
He’s also already had a few stints on television having previously spoken to Fox Sports – so his next MAFS gig should be old hat!
And another reality TV star joining the cast is Bronson Norrish, who took to the small screen in Ninja Warrior earlier this year.
He’ll be marrying Ines Basic on the show – who also appeared in the trailer.
The dramatic trailer also reveals several other cast members who are not as well known, but going by their expressive displays, promise no less drama.
And if last season is anything to go by, we’ll be getting plenty of it – even when the show is over.
In November, NW reported that last season’s Ryan Gallagher is making an epic return to the hit series in 2019, and his next stint is set to be just as explosive as the last.
While it has not been confirmed, an insider told the publication that it was his popularity that was a catalyst for a second chance on the show.
“It’s the biggest secret of next season,” they revealed.
“Fans were obsessed with him, so Channel Nine were desperate to bring him back.
Bring on January 2019!
