When Manu Feildel was offered a judging seat on Australia’s Got Talent, some fans of the hit show were left wondering if his new gig would spell the end of MKR.
But the French chef says that’s absolutely not the case. In fact, it was Manu’s co-host, Pete Evans, who he first went to with the proposal.
“Pete has known me such a long time,” Manu tells TV WEEK. “He was probably the first person I went to. He said, ‘Oh my god! You’d be great at it.’ I thought if he thinks I will be great at it, then why not. They [Pete and Colin Fassnidge] are both supportive.”
Manu loves seeing what talent Australia has to offer. And working alongside with his old friend Shane Jacobson – the pair starred on The BBQ last year – is the icing on the cake.
“We’re like two peas in a pod,” Manu says. “They have to give us a room each because they can’t control us.
My belly hurts from laughing all day with this guy. He’s like a machine gun of jokes. It never stops.
Sometimes it’s a true story, sometimes it’s fake. You never know what he’s going to come out with!”
Manu is also enjoying working alongside Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger.
“She’s a lovely human being, we have a good laugh,” he says.
But the question is: does he know the lyrics to her most famous song, Don’t Cha?!
“I sing it in the morning in the shower, actually!” he laughs.
