Troy’s one-on-one meet-up with Melissa on Married At First Sight left her convinced that he was hitting on her. So was he?
“Maybe I did have some fun, friendly flirting with her,” Troy tells TV WEEK.
“I think Melissa is a very easy-going woman who’s quite sophisticated and is a great catch.
“She is very engaging, she’s fun. I rarely get to spend quality time with that type of person in my life.”
But Troy stresses it was just “friendly flirting” with the 53-year-old who is married to John.
“Obviously, there’s an age difference between us and she’s got lots of children and we’re in totally different life situations. But yeah, she’s definitely a catch for any man out there.”
With the meet-up, Troy says he wanted to give Melissa a “fun break” from the experiment.
“I might have also used the experience to really detach myself from the experiment and just have a really fun lunch with someone and just forget everything that had been going on.”
Troy’s comments come after he was slammed on social media for flirting with Melissa during an episode earlier this week.
“I mean, you do strike me as a very successful, family orientated woman,” Troy told the mother-of-three.
“I think you could get along with almost anyone you would be matched with, to be honest.”
While Troy is currently married to Ashley, 28, on the top rating reality show, this isn’t the first time the 35-year-old larrikin has taken a liking to an older woman during filming.
Earlier this season, Troy caused controversy when he admitted he thought Ashley’s mum, Stephanie, was also very attractive.
“The gene pool is very attractive, especially from the mother’s side…I think she is very attractive,” Troy said.
