They’ve reportedly formed a relationship outside of Married At First Sight. And as the reality show wraps up its fifth season, Troy and Carly reveal they plan to start a family together.

IT consultant Troy tells TV WEEK he doesn’t want to waste any more time when it comes to having children.

“I don’t want to be too old and still pumping out kids,” the 34-year-old says. “Time is dwindling.”

And it seems Carly feels much the same way.

“I really want to have kids,” the 32-year-old adds. “I want to have a few – so I need to get cracking on that one.”

So exactly how many children would the couple like to have?

“If I was 25, I would say eight would be awesome,” Troy laughs. “But six little rascals running around would be so much fun. I’ve got a history of twins in my family. Maybe I can get a couple of sets of triplets.”

Carly, meanwhile, is hoping to keep her future family on the smaller side.

“I think three would be nice,” she says.

It was Troy’s desire for a “classic family set-up” that saw him sign on for Married At First Sight in the first place.

“I want to settle down for the rest of my life,” he explains.

But despite being paired with his “ideal wife”, Troy admits he didn’t feel a connection with his “bride”, 28-year-old Ashley, on their wedding day.

“I thought she was a little bit reactive and superficial,” he admits. “I was looking for more depth and analysis. I could tell she liked me, but she was so timid that it was just so hard.”

He says on their dates he sometimes did things that were out of character just to entertain himself.

“We weren’t engaging each other, and we were bored,” he says.

Last week, Carly told TV WEEK that Troy was her type – more so than her MAFS groom, 41-year-old Justin.

But Troy admits he wasn’t surprised by the revelation.

“I think early on at the dinner parties, it was quite easy to pick who was each person’s type,” the larrikin explains.

“In some cases, it wasn’t necessarily the person they were matched up with. So I was already a bit suspicious about that.”
