Tracey and Dean’s roller-coaster romance has come to an abrupt end on Married At First Sight after Tracey finally pulled the pin on her controversial husband.
In the vow renewal ceremony, Dean poured his heart out, telling Tracey he loved her.
“I was feeling confident,” Dean, 39, tells TV WEEK. “At that point, I felt really invested in the relationship.
“I was in love with her and I put my heart on the line.”
But despite choosing to walk away, Dean reveals Tracey tried to reignite their relationship once the cameras stopped rolling.
“We were separated straight away and we didn’t have our phones with us,” Dean explains. “But half an hour after the show, Tracey started calling me.
“She said the door was open to chat through her decision and maybe we could still work things out between us.”
Dean claims he shut down any hopes of reconciliation. He believes the pair are better suited as friends.
“I think it’s for the best we didn’t end up in a serious relationship,” the Sydney creative director says. “I’m single now and I think that’s for the best.”
Meanwhile, Dean concedes participating in the MAFS experiment has taken a toll on his life, especially his career and finances.
“I can’t work at the moment,” Dean, who runs a creative agency, says.
“There’s too much drama and noise around me and my situation, so I’ve had to shut down my company until further notice.”
