Hot on the heels of announcing their plans to start a family using IVF, Love Island‘s Eden Dally and Erin Barnett have called it quits.
“It’s pretty upsetting, but unfortunately these things happen,” Eden tells OK! following the Love Island runner-up’s joint announcement with his girlfriend of two months, Erin.
The exes thanked fans for their support, and then just a short time later, whispers began circulating about a third party being involved in the surprise break-up.
After partying with Eden for his 26th birthday sans Erin, 23, fellow contestant Natasha Webster was forced to defend herself after receiving death threats, and even garnered support from Eden’s loved ones.
“You’re all class Tash. Don’t stress these fools,” Eden’s brother Trent commented, while a fan encouraged her to “ignore the hate”.
Erin kept quiet after Tash’s public plea to be left alone; however another housemate claims he knew they’d broken up long before the announcement.
Eden’s nemesis Grant Crapp says, “From what I’ve heard they broke up a few weeks ago. The cat’s out of the bag!”
Many believed Erin and Eden’s relationship had the best chance of surviving in the outside world, and the couple agreed.
“We have been the couple that’s been talking about having kids and getting married,” Erin previously told Now to Love.
“We already know we both want two kids. We both want twins – I would love two girls, Eden would want a boy and a girl.”
“And we’ve already talked about marriage and rings, and all that. We’ve already got baby names and stuff like that picked out – it’s all really exciting!”
Erin and Eden’s breakup follows the latest string of reality TV splits, including Bachelor In Paradise couples Keira Maguire and Jarrod Woodgate and Jake Ellis and Megan Marx, as well as Married At First Sight couple Carly Bowyer and Troy Demelge.
