It was a rollercoaster ride for Love Island Australia 2023 romantics Kale and Tyra, but the result was well worth the journey.
When bombshell Kale entered the villa, Tyra stepped aside to let her best friend Nakia explore a relationship with him. Love Island fans know this ended with Kale being booted from the villa after Nakia recoupled with Andy.
Kale’s one regret? Not exploring a relationship with Tyra.
The romantic crew behind Love Island saw the potential, and for the first time ever, offered an opportunity for Kale to re-enter the villa with Tyra or go home. For Tyra, who had become stagnant in her search for villa love, it was a no-brainer.
For Kale, returning for Tyra’s was his favourite memory.
“The day I came back, the date Tyra and I had was really special,” Kale told TV WEEK. “It was really cool, she wasn’t expecting me – obviously,” he laughed.
From this perfect moment, the couple became inseparable. Their love was so raw, the super fans deemed them worthy of winning Love Island Australia 2023.
They partied the win away, with “lots and lots of wine” but then came the next challenge – leaving the holiday love bubble and entering the real world.
While they only live a few hours drive apart, any loved-up couple would know a few hours can feel three times as long. Tyra, residing in the Sunshine Coast and Kale living in the Gold Coast, the pair admitted to TV WEEK it has been an adjustment.
“We spent literally 24/7 with each other and then going to like just seeing each other on weekends, it’s like a huge thing,” Tyra expressed.
“It’s just a couple hours…”
However, the pair look forward to more normal milestones in their relationship, including meet the family. Over New Years, the couple booked a holiday to visit Kale’s friends and family, to which Tyra – who will be meeting them for the first time in person – revealed she was “super excited.”
In the new year, the couple have met up with their fellow Love Island Australia couple, Zac and Lucinda to go on friendly Australian adventures with the UK-born Lucinda.
