Disgusting food, hooking up with strangers and wearing next to nothing on TV – after being used to all of the above – and more! – during her time on wild reality series Geordie Shore, Brit TV star Charlotte Crosby says heading to the South African jungle for I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here will be a doddle.

“I’ll be fine,” the 29-year-old tells OK. “Unless there’s a risk of dying I am not going to be scared of anything…except cockroaches!”

What made you agree to go into the jungle?

I’ve always wanted to go on the English version of the show but for years and years they told me ‘no way will we take anyone who’s from Geordie Shore. It’s not a family show’ So I went ‘all right then’ and did Celebrity Big Brother instead – which I won.

Then because I won it the UK I’m A Celeb team went ‘Oh Geordie people aren’t so bad and they cast Vicky Pattinson (who appeared on our IAC in 2018) – but then they still wouldn’t take me because I’d done Big Brother. TV is a very tricky game you know…

So it was a no brainer to do our version of I’m A Celeb

Absolutely. When I was asked I was like ‘I’m in 100% and I will fly over there and I will do it and I will do it the best it has ever been done.

How will you cope with the yukky eating challenges on the show?

I’ll be fine. I’ve eaten many a dodgy kebab on nights out in Newcastle at 3am so eating crocodile balls or whatever won’t be a problem.

Are you open to enjoying a jungle fling with another campmate?

Absolutely. I’m single now (Charlotte split from her Ex On The Beach boyfriend of two years Josh Ritchie in November) so I’m just about ready to mingle again. The jungle could be a good place to meet someone aye? Tarzan met Jane in the jungle and they had a lifelong romance so why shouldn’t I find my soulmate in camp?

Are you going into the jungle to distract yourself from heartache?

It’s the perfect way to get over a break-up, isn’t it? I feel like this show came along at exactly the right time for me. I think doing something completely out of your comfort zone is a good way to move on. I hope it is anyway!

Is there any celebrity you’d like to meet in camp?

I don’t know many Australian celebrities, but I’ve had a little flirt with Ryan Gallagher from MAFS on social media and he’s just my type. If he ends up in camp, I won’t be able to control meself around him! [Luckily Ryan is in camp with Charlotte and the pair are growing close!]

You’re turning 30 in May this year – any plans to celebrate?

I can not wait. I think my thirties are going to be the best years of my life. I know who I am, I know what I want and I’m secure in me life. Bring on dirty 30!

Charlotte Crosby is on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here from Sundays to Thursdays at 7.30pm on Ten
