If speculation is correct and Aussie-born singer Cody Simpson is the man behind the robot mask, then the LA-based singer will take home a total pay packet of $380,000 for just six weeks’ work on The Masked Singer.
“Even though he’s relatively unknown in Australia, he’s considered very high on the US food chain and it would have taken at least that much to get Cody over here for the show,” confirms one industry expert.
All the celebs who competed on the reality show were paid a sign-on fee of between $10,000 and $200,000. They were then given a fee of between $2000 and $10,000 for each episode in which they appeared – making it a huge pay day if they made it to the finale.

Of course, the judges are taking home even bigger pay packets – Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan is pocketing $800,000, while singer Dannii Minogue, KIIS FM star Jackie O and comedian Dave Hughes are receiving $350,000, $250,000 and $200,000 respectively.
The highest paid Aussie celebrity behind a mask was veteran singer Kate Ceberano, who earned a $70,000 sign-on fee plus $5000 per episode. If it is Rob Mills behind the wolf mask, he will get $50,000.
