As the House Rules teams headed to South Australia to give Lisa and Andy’s place the show’s full treatment, the teams were swapping the bold opulence of last week for a softer, Scandinavian look.
And after seeing the entire house reveal, we reckon they delivered 100 per cent.
Fireman Andy and flight attendant Lisa, who are also dog parents to Calvin and Louis, wanted to ditch the drab 1970s look of their home and instead give it a more European, updated feel with the following rules:
Create a Nordic sanctuary
Use timber and soft tones
Deliver a knockout piece in each room
Give us a breathtaking bathroom
Bring “suave sixties” to the den
So how did the teams go? Take a look at the home before and after the House Rules treatment.
Entry before
Before Pete and Courtney got their hands on the entry, it was rather bland.

But afterwards, it was a Nordic dream complete with secret storage and timber panels.

This hallway looked like it came straight from the 1970s…

But the bright mural made it look 10 times bigger and brighter.

The main bedroom was just a bit blah.

But with some sophisticated styling, the master bedroom is now fit for a king and queen.

Pete and Courtney didn’t play it safe with the colour, but it paid off.

Tim and Mat were tasked with creating a “breathtaking” bathroom.

And boy did the boys deliver!

Minimal is one word for the dining room before.

We love the circular theme and gorgeous table setting.
Laundry before
The laundry had very little going for it before the surfer sisters got their hands on it.

But Mikaela and Eliza not only re-invented the laundry room, but added in a DIY dog wash.

Despite being small, Lisa and Andy wanted their den to represent the “suave sixties” without going all Austin Powers.

Though the judges weren’t fans, Mikaela and Eliza totally re-vamped the space.

And a cocktail cabinet is a must!

Shayn and Carly had quite the blank canvas with the en suite.

But now it’s looking sleek and swish.

The mirror with the skylight directly above it was well-received by the judges.

LLB may have called it “Nordically nice” but we think that fireplace is a stunner!

Lisa and Andy couldn’t stand their seventies style pink kitchen and Katie and Alex had the unenviable task of fixing it.

But even with hints of pink, the new and improved kitchen looks a million times better!

The most interesting thing about the guest bedroom was the “jazzy” bedspread…
