The happy-go-lucky couple were the first cabs off the ranks as they handed over the keys to their “forever home” and the other teams were tasked with overhauling the property.

There had been tears and tantrums throughout the week as Tassie twins Kimmy and Rhi went head to head with couple Tanya and Dave over the placement of a firewood bench seat design.

In the end, it was Kimmy and Rhi who reigned supreme with 41 points, after delivering spaces that ticked Aimee and Kayne’s boxes when it came to creating an eco-inspired, light filled oasis.

Judge Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen described their dining room as “very clever”, while Kyly Clarke also gave the space her seal of approval.

Meanwhile, Saul Myers thought their eco-vanity was the biggest winner on the day.

Despite Tanya and Dave plummeting to the bottom of the leaderboard with 34 points after leaving the judges less than impressed, Aimee and Kayne were thrilled with what all of the teams had done to their home – and praised friends Laith and George for taking risks with bamboo in their master bedroom.
