He shot to fame winning the inaugural Australian Idol in 2003, and now Woman’s Day can exclusively reveal Guy Sebastian is about to be announced as a coach on The Voice.
Guy, 37, will replace Joe Jonas in the fourth red chair next year, alongside returning coaches Boy George, Delta Goodrem and Kelly Rowland.
Having appeared as a judge on five seasons of The X Factor, Guy is the perfect fit for the high-pressure role.
“He ticks every box,” says our insider. “He’s popular, a Sony music artist and most importantly, affordable! Fans slammed [Nine’s] decision to cast three international coaches last year, so they were keen to fill the seat locally, and no one measures up to Guy.”
And the coveted role is something Guy has been eyeing up for a while.
“Finally he’s been given the green light,” says a source.
But there’s one person who isn’t happy about Guy’s new gig – his wife of 10 years Jules, who has warned him to stay clear of his ex Delta.
“Jules is concerned about Guy working so closely with an old flame,” spills a source close to the pair.
“While she is excited for him and wants him to excel in his career, she’s finding it hard to reconcile the fact that her hubby will be working alongside Delta, someone he’s admitted to dating in the past.”

Indeed, the Battle Scars singer shocked fans in 2015 when he revealed he went on a “couple of dates” with Delta.
“A long time ago… I dated my [hall] pass, believe it or not,” he said on The Kyle & Jackie O Show. “Hers [Jules’] was Heath Ledger, mine was Delta Goodrem. And I dated Delta for a few months – no one knew about it.”
Shortly after, Delta, 33, also opened up about their brief romance, telling fans Guy is a “good kisser”.

Adding to Jules’ woes is the fact Delta “has been gushing about how happy she is to be working with Guy.”
While Delta and Guy’s relationship is purely platonic these days, sources say Jules is possibly worried old sparks may be reignited with the pair working so closely together.
“Everyone knows The Voice is a huge commitment to take on,” says our insider. “Jules can’t help but worry.”
