Revenge was on the menu for Shonee and Liz as their spice girl’s alliance gave Flick Palmateer the literal flick from Survivor Heroes vs Villains.

After pleading with their fellow alliance members to save Flick pre merge at a heated tribal council and betraying one of their one (rip Stevie) in the process, one would have thought that Flick would remain firmly in the spice girls camp come merge.

But alas it was not meant to be and come merge Flick turned her back on her new BFFs, writing Shonee’s name down, with David eventually going home.

By then the writing was on the wall for Flick, and with Hayley and Matt also jumping ship to the now renamed ‘vigilante’ alliance, she was an obvious target to vote out.

”The way the edit has been makes me look silly for not realising that Hayley and Matt were clearly working with the vigilante’s alliance but it was not clear on the beach,” Flick tells us.

”The information that I knew on paper looked like we had the numbers which is why I stuck with that original hero’s alliance. Hayley did a great job of lying and so did Matt. ”

Flick first played the game in 2021’s Brains vs Brawns.

Describing what was going through her head when she betrayed Liz and Shonee, Flick said she had no regrets.

”Tribe swap was not kind to me at all. I lost all my original alliance members, so it was just me and a couple of my original heroes. We were basically up sh** creek without a paddle, and I had to work super hard and do and say whatever I could to make it to merge,” Flick tells us.

”But once the merge happened, I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. I was damned if I did and damned if I didn’t.

”If I had gone with Shonee, George and Liz I would have betrayed my original hero’s alliance and if I went with my original heroes alliance I would have betrayed Shonee, George and Liz, so either way I looked at it I was about to p**s off a whole bunch of people.”

Flick was ready to show off her athletic skills.

And obviously whilst with hindsight Flick knows she should have gone with the spice girls (or should we say vigilantes now), she wouldn’t have changed a thing about both her strategic and social approach to the game, confirming that there are ”no hard feelings” between the trio.

”It is really really hard but at the end of the day if you make it to the end you are going to have to lie to people, you are going to have to betray people. You just can’t get there without doing it.

And if you sit there at the end at the final tribal council and say ”well i didn’t have to do any of that,” to me I’m just like did you even have any strategy, for me, that’s almost reason enough for me not to vote for you.

Poor Flick tried to use an immunity idol to save fellow alliance member Matt, but alas it wasn’t real.

According to Flick there lay the ”beauty” of Survivor.

”It’s a social experiment where you have to juggle the personal relationships with the strategic side of the game. I know, and the girls [Liz and Shonee] have all chatted, that we are fine.

”It’s just when you are in that moment and in the game it’s hard to take a moment to step back, zoom out and go hey we are playing a game here.”

This pro surfer was a team player but switched alliances multiple times throughout her time in Samoa.

So as the first member of the jury, how does Flick predict the remainder of the season will unfold?

”There are some amazing players still left in this game and a lot of these players have played before…George is absolutely incredible; in this season he has just gone to another level.

”Hayley is still in the mix as well. It’s going to get really exciting and really fiery too.”

And whilst Flick was tight lipped about a potential winner, she did tell us to buckle in.

”George has undoubtedly played the most strategic game so far; he is very smart at telling people what they want to hear.

”But we will just have to wait and see what happens!”
