As the final week draws closer, the promise of everlasting love (and hectares of farmland) has never felt more real for the ladies of Farmer Wants A Wife.

Yet while some have fallen madly in love with the farmers – Sam, Neil, Alex, Nick and Harry – a few of the women still have no clue who they are!

An on-set spy tells Woman’s Day some potential wives who make it to the end struggled to form any romantic connections, due to there being no time for one-on-one dates, particularly after the flirty farmers refused to send women home.

“The farmers were so spoilt for choice and I think they just wanted to be surrounded by women,” says the source.

“They couldn’t make up their minds, and in turn there wasn’t enough time for every woman to spend time with each farmer.

“So what they were left with was a farmer who they didn’t really know! They weren’t happy.”

The fury felt between the women played out over several episodes, and while some contenders confronted the husbands-to-be and accused them of wasting their time, the indecisive men just couldn’t make their minds up.

“Towards the end, women were coming to producers in droves asking to leave,” the source says.

“They felt no sparks with the farmers and felt they were being greedy by keeping all the women there.”

And while his quest for love has been put on hold for now, a source tells Woman’s Day the 28-year-old is planning to return next year!

“He was embraced by audiences and has been approached to return for another try,” the insider reveals.
