Married At First Sight Australia star Ella May Ding loves to experiment with a brilliant hair transformation.
Following her stint on reality TV in 2021, she became known for her signature long, wavy and dark hair. But as of July 2024, she converted to platinum blonde.
“I just love a bit of change every now & again 🪐,” she captioned the Instagram post (above.)
This isn’t the first time Ella has made a dramatic change to her hairstyle. In early 2023, she made an ‘impulsive’ decision to chop it all off. She also admitted that the length she had was due to hair extensions but over time, they’ve caused extensive damage to her natural hair.
Speaking candidly in a TikTok video at the time, Ella told followers she was still on the fence about her new ‘do.
”So my hair extensions came out last Friday and my undercut was growing,” Ella said, her face close to the camera, hiding her new cut in the process.
”I can be really impulsive sometimes and make really dramatic decisions and I may have cut all of my hair off.
”I’m kinda nervous to show everyone,” she then said.
But loyal followers were quick to show their support in the comments, telling Ella she was ”gorgeous with short or long hair.”
”Ella, you would be stunning bald, let’s be real,” one fan wrote.

”I’ve chopped it all off. It’s all gone,” Ella revealed, taking a step back and debuting the new cut on camera for the first time.
She then admitted that she loved the new length because it dried in a naturally wavy style and it now took her ”one second to get ready”. But she also confessed that she still missed her long hair before asking followers whether they loved or hated her new haircut.

In the comments, friends and followers were quick to show their support once more; Sit With Us podcast co host and fellow MAFS alumni Domenica Calarco commented, ”I am living for the natural wave.”
And in a follow up video, Ella shared footage of her dancing, smiling and enjoying how her new shoulder length bob moved around and Domenica once again shared the love.
