As Domenica Calarco heads down the aisle on Married At First Sight, she knows the drill.
It’s not the first time the stunning 28-year-old has been married, but with the union crumbling after just two months of marriage, she’s hoping that this time, thanks to the expert’s help, it’ll be her last.
“I was in a four-year relationship. We got married and two months into the marriage I called it. I just couldn’t see it working,” Domenica tells TV WEEK. “I was so over being gaslit and made to feel like I wasn’t good enough.”
Domenica admits that she had doubts before the wedding, but with so much stress involved in planning the big day, she told herself that it would get better.
After the wedding, the panic truly set in.
“It was the realisation that I was married and that came with so much pressure to buy a house and have kids. I was like, well, I definitely don’t want to have a child with someone I’m not 100 per cent with,” she says.
“Looking back on it, I always say I don’t have any regrets, but I think the one thing I wish is that I could’ve been stronger prior to the wedding and acknowledged my true feelings.
“When she finally met her new husband, 26-year-old financial planner Jack, Domenica was over the moon.
“We were instantly comfortable. I think we talked for ten minutes before they even started the ceremony and we were like ‘oh shit, we’ve got to do this,'” she laughs.
“My first impression was that I was glad I’ve got someone who is going to be able to deal with me and my energy.”
