It’s billed as fun entertainment for the whole family, but Woman’s Day hears that behind the scenes of Seven’s new show Holey Moley, there was a much more chaotic atmosphere.
An industry insider says that a string of on-set accidents was so severe, it prompted the show’s US star Rob Riggle, 50, to flee back to the US in a flurry.
According to the source, Rob, who also stars on the US version of the show, was heard openly complaining about the safety of contestants, claiming things were very different behind the scenes of the American production.
“Working into the wee hours of the morning, Rob watched as multiple contestants had to be carted off set due to serious accidents,” says the insider.
“He flew back home shocked at the carnage he witnessed on set.”

“One person who was injured even had to crawl off the course before safety and medics helped them,” the insider claims.
Another spy says, “A show like this takes careful planning to make sure that everything runs smoothly, but even then, lives are still at risk.”

The 72-year-old Gold Logie winner is still recovering, but host Sonia Kruger recently told Woman’s Day that she was “treated very quickly” by medics and would hope she would return to have another go in season two.
With production on the first season completed, the show’s crew have been left to question whether they’ll want to return for a second season – if it’s picked up by the network.
When asked about the contestants’ injuries, Sonia, 55, told Woman’s Day that there were more “bruised egos” than actual bruises.
