Carrie Bickmore has added fuel to the fire amidst rumours that the retiring The Project host is about to jump ship to a rival network once her contract with Network 10 ends later this year.

After announcing her resignation live on air in early October, an all out bidding war was ignited between rival networks and radio, a TV insider has spilled to Woman’s Day.

Since starting on the nightly news program 13 years ago, the 41 year old has become a familiar face on the television for many, but now it seems that her voice may be the big pull as sources hint to a career move to radio.

She announced her resignation on-air.

According to Woman’s Day, Bickmore, alongside former The Project co-host and comedian Tommy Little, will be making the leap from Southern Cross Austereo to sign with the Australian Radio Network (ARN).

The publication also revealed that an industry insider said Bickmore and Little have been told to “name their terms” as the radio network attempts to bring her over.

“They’ve been told they can ‘name their terms’,” the publication stated, adding that ARN bosses feel Bickmore is the “missing ingredient” it’s stable of stations needs.

The article also said KIIS FM breakfast presenter Kyle Sandilands was pushing to bring over Bickmore — but this claim has also been refuted by Sandilands’ manager Bruno Bouchet.

Announcing her departure, Bickmore said the career change was spurred on by her desire to spend more time with her family.

“It’s time for a new challenge. It is time for my next chapter…I look forward to more family dinners and watching the show with my pjs on and a wine in my hand,” she said at the time.

Carrie’s choice words around spending more time with her family sparked rumours she could be headed for a more manageable gig such as Nine’s A Current Affair or a role in breakfast TV.

While many of the theories have already been debunked, one thing is for sure – everyone wants in!

Bickmore is expected to officially wrap up on The Project in the coming weeks.
