The first episode of The Bachelorette 2021 has only just aired and fans have already been treated to the first kiss of the season.
Bachelorette Brooke Blurton locked lips with none other than former Bachelor co-star Jamie-Lee Dayz on the first night in the mansion.
The kiss came after an emotional chat between the two women, who first bonded on Nick Cummins’ season of the show in 2018.
After admitting that it was a “gamble” coming back on the show for Brooke’s season, Jamie-Lee shared a major confession from their time on the show three years ago.
“There were so many times in the mansion where I would want to sneak over to your bed, but I just didn’t know,” Jamie-Lee revealed.
“It was scary because if I had of put my feelings out there and you ended up with Nick, then I would’ve lost you as a friend.”
Brooke admitted that it was a total shock when Jamie-Lee stepped out of the limo for the new season, then went on to share her own thoughts from the 2018 season.
“I’m going to be honest with you, I had feelings for you in the house. Just know that,” she says.
“But I knew that I was there obviously for Nick. I was conflicted… I kind of felt like it was a bit of a sliding door moment for us.”
The two women agreed that the 2018 season wasn’t the right “time or place” to explore their connection, but they were excited to see where the feelings could take them now.
Brooke then leaned in for a hug and Jamie-Lee whispered in her ear that she wanted to kiss her, but would hold back given it was the first night.
Brooke assured her that it “will happen” – but the promised kiss ended up coming a lot sooner than anyone expected.
Just moments after their hug, Brooke pulled Jaimie-Lee in for the first kiss of the season.
“I’m sorry, I had to,” Brooke told her before they kissed again. And a third time!
Before the kiss Jamie-Lee had been worried about the other contestants putting a “target on her back” because she had the advantage of knowing Brooke before filming began.
The other guys and girls assumed that she would end up with the white rose that guarantees the contestant Brooke gives it to the first single date, and it looked like things were heading that way.
But Brooke surprised everyone when she chose to present Darvid with the rose after he made an amazing impression on the red carpet.
Later, at the rose ceremony, Jaime-Lee was absent, Osher Gunsberg explaining that she was unwell – but don’t worry, Brooke had already “guaranteed” her a rose.
The episode ended with Johann being sent home, but we can’t wait to see what happens next between Brooke and the remaining contestants.
