We were over the moon when reality series Big Brother was revived by Channel Seven last year.
The beloved naughties series has had quite the revamp, from the flash new digs to the introduction of a Survivor-esque nominations process, it’s a far cry from the old days of watching housemates burn fish fingers in the oven.
While we’re still torn over our love for the OG series and the excitement of the new cut-throat reboot, the possibility of an All-Stars edition of the show would be the perfect answer to our woes.
Channel Seven recently announced Big Brother would be getting a celebrity edition called Big Brother VIP but talks of an All-Stars edition are still rife.
As for whether the VIP spin-off will be a mix of Aussie celebs and all-star housemates is yet to be confirmed.
However, if gossip podcast So Dramatic! is anything to go by, we could be getting both.
“There are talks of a Big Brother All-Stars in the works,” host Megan revealed. “They’re going to do one more season of Big Brother and then they’re going to do the All-Stars.”
Whether the “one more” is Big Brother VIP (which is confirmed to air later this year) or a combination remains to be seen.
Before you let your Big Brother OG fandom go into overdrive, Megan let slip a very disappointing rumour – the All-Stars edition will not feature your old faves.
“It’s not going to be All-Stars, All-Stars. They are only going to use contestants from the Channel Seven Network version not contestants from the OG franchise.”
Considering the pool of housemate talent to choose from would be miniscule with only two (potentially three) seasons having played out, we hope this isn’t true.
Since the revival of the reality series fans AND ex-housemates have been calling for an All-Stars edition of the show.
An All-Stars season without the likes of Sara Marie or Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald would be an absolute travesty.
