Last yearโ€™s Bachelorette finale, which saw Elly Miles break runner-up Joe Woodburyโ€™s heart, may have been one of the most devastating to watch, thus far.

So difficult was the final decision to go through with that even Elly herself couldnโ€™t make it to the rose ceremony.

Instead, the Bachelorette went to Joeโ€™s room to break the news to him.

The moment all our hearts, including Joeโ€™s, broke.

Months have passed since our hearts ached for the sweet bachelor, and it seems heโ€™s finally gotten the happy ending he deserved.

After teasing a possible romance in many of his Instagram stories, the reality star has made his new relationship official.

Joe shared a sweet snap with his new girlfriend, Newcastle-based Cassie, looking awfully happy, which we love to see.

โ€œSunday special ๐Ÿค๐Ÿค,โ€ Joe simply captioned the snap.

Weโ€™re so happy for these two!

Cassie shared a similar snap to her own Instagram account with two heart emojis.

Despite the couple only now confirming the romance, there have been hints they were dating since the start of the year.

On January 17 Cassie shared an unsuspecting beach-side snap with the caption: โ€œWholesome weekendโ˜€.โ€

However, Joeโ€™s beloved dog Alfie, who famously appeared on The Bachelorette and stole the show, featured in Cassieโ€™s photograph with Joe also being tagged.

Following the heartbreaking Bachelorette finale Joe took to Instagram to share his feelings, and in typical Joe-fashion was sweet as pie.

โ€œSometimes things donโ€™t work out, no matter how much we want them to, and thatโ€™s just life. Iโ€™ve said from the beginning of this whole experience that Iโ€™m a firm believer of fate, and that everything happens for a reason, and for me this means that it hasnโ€™t been my fate to find love here,โ€ the runner-up explained in a heartfelt Instagram post.

โ€œI hold my head high knowing I stuck by who I am, and know that I put everything on the table with how I felt.โ€

He went on to add: โ€œCannot thank everyone enough for their messages of love and support, from my family and friends, to people I havenโ€™t even met before, youโ€™ve all helped me through this experience and for that I am so grateful.โ€
