When Matt Agnew was announced as the Bachelor back in March, females around the country lost their collective minds.
And now, after watching the premiere episode, ovaries have exploded, knees have gone weak and Australia has fallen in love.

And while Matt is dreamy AF, The Bachelor wouldn’t be The Bachelor without the 28 women vying for his affection; and after meeting some of them on Wednesday night, we learnt A LOT.
From the outrageous entrances (ahem, “bride” Rachael) to the most romantic campfire ever to Matt’s coiffed locks rivalling that of “our” Osher; if this ep was anything to go by, this is going to be the BEST season yet.

Behold, the craziest things that happened in the first episode of “Astro-boy wants a wife”… We mean, The Bachelor 2019.
It begins…
We begin our journey with a pensive Matt, staring at nothing.
Matt is an Astrophysicist
And we are reminded that he works with spacey-type things…
“At the end of the day, you can’t have a cuddle with a PHD,” he says.
Meet Elly
Even though we met her in the promo, we didn’t realise just how much of an earth angel 24-year-old nurse, Elly was… and we’re quite certain that not only will she – but we – will get our hearts ripped into a million little pieces if Matt doesn’t choose her.

And if this wasn’t THE most romantic first date we have ever seen…”You give me butterflies,” Matt says.
Later on, Matt gave Elly the golden ticket – a trip to his hometown, and please don’t break her heart…
Emma
We have two names for you when it comes to 32-year-old fashion brand manager, Emma. Cass Wood and Rachael Gouvignon.
You see, Emma is like if Cass and Rachel had a love child in Ireland…
When Emma gets the first chat of the season, she says: “It definitely made me feel really special out of all of the girls,” before creepily staring at Matt and saying: “You did wonderful…”

Throughout the entire chat, clingy Emma stares at Matt like this. And we have now dubbed her Rachael G 2.0.
Nichole, 25
When tomboy Nichole enters on a motorcycle, Matt’s reaction is: “Sh-t! Wow this is an entrance!”
And while it sure was, Nichole’s personality was even more, well, full on.
“I don’t have a problem picking up guys,” Nichole tells the producers. “I’m pretty outgoing. Obviously I’m not the ugliest person on the face of the earth…” Well, then.
Nichole chats with Matt
Chatting to Matt, the confidence just kept growing.
“I’m looking for a guy to do fun sh-t with,” she tells him. “He’s so keen. Nichole is not going home the first night.”
And then there was this: “Well if you like this dirty ride, you’re not going to actually recognise me inside.”
Mary teaches Matt how to dance
Mary Viturino is from Brazil and the stunning mother-of-one teaches Matt how to dance!
Kristen, Chinese Researcher
We first met Kristen, a Chinese Researcher, back when the first promos were released and while we knew she had lived in China for three years, what we didn’t know was that she, well, is obsessed with China.
In fact, she’s so obsessed that the 24-year-old Queenslander revealed her nickname to be “The China Girl”.
Rachael, Personal Trainer
Later, 23-year-old personal trainer, Rachael, tells the producers: “Right now I’m getting pretty bored of hearing Kristen talk about China,” before we see a montage of Kristen telling Abbie Chatfield all about her favourite topic.

Vakoo teaches Matt how to model
When Matt met Vakoo, the whole of Australia met Vakoo.
The STUNNING 23-year-old model showed our Bachelor what she was made of and then made him strut his stuff on the catwalk. “Bam, I’m pregnant!” she tells him.
While her walk was sensational, the noises she made, were, ahem… a lot.
But her confidence really shone through when she said, “Once you go black, you never go back” and good for her.
Vakoo shows the other girls she can model
Then, later on at the cocktail party, Vakoo rolls out the red carpet again for another turn, this time, showing the other ladies how it’s done.
Nichole, claws already out says: “I think she’s a model of some description,” and yes Nichole, she is in fact, a working model.

Isabelle teaches Matt pilates
Isabelle is a pilates instructor. And it shows.
Hannah’s Love Actually cards
Hannah probably won the evening by bringing Love Actually cards.
And Matt’s cheesy grin said it all.
Rachael, 23
23-year-old personal trainer, Rachael runs to the finish line by turning up as a bride, with bestie (and taken) Tonya in tow.
“I’d like to be a young bride,” she says before adding, “He’s very clean cut. I usually go for a more rugged guy. Let’s hope he has a good job!”

After Rachael walks off, Matt turns his attention to Tonya, who tells him she’s in a relationship.
“I can’t believe my best friend is stealing my limelight,” a horrified Rachael tells the producers, before then asking her bestie: “What’s his name?”

Matt and Helena take some time to chat at the cocktail party and seem to hit it off, until…
Hannah interrupts, because Hannah is the worst and becomes a very, very, awkward third wheel.

Matt: “Ah, yeh,”
Hannah: “Sh-t, yes!”
