One of the most iconic action-meets-sci-fi-meets-horror films from 1987, Predator, has seen many sequels and spin offs since its creation. However, questions about the origin of the Predator and the world it lived in always loomed. Finally this year, we get to dive deeper with the 2022 release of Prey – a prequel to the original Predator films.
If you’re looking for a film filled with suspense, chilling musical motifs and jaw-dropping visual effects then it’s time to get the popcorn popping because you’re going to be in for a treat
What is ‘Prey’ about?
As per the film’s synopsis, Prey is the “origin story of the Predator in the world of the Comanche Nation 300 years ago.”
Naru (Amber Midthunder) is a skilled warrior, “fights to protect her tribe against one of the first highly-evolved Predators to land on Earth.”
She discovers a mysterious creature (synonymous with a chilling click-sounding growl), when she is out hunting a lion. She discovers something much bigger and deadlier: a creature that lives to hunt.
Doing everything in her will to warn her tribe, you’ll be at the edge of your seat every second of this film.
Who is cast in ‘Prey’?
Alongside Amber Midthunder (Legion) is newcomer Dakota Beaver who plays Taabe, Naru’s brother. The film is also directed by the talented Dan Tratchenburg who is most well-known for his work on 10 Cloverfield Lane.
