If you were a kid in the Nineties, chances are you owned a few copies of the Goosebumps horror-fiction novellas, which let you choose your own ending.
The hugely popular series featured guts, gore and monsters that were gloriously grotesque. And now Goosebumps is being turned into a film.
Actor Jack Black will revive the series on the big screen and play a fictional version of the series’ author, R.L. Stine.
Zach Cooper, played by Dylan Minnette, is a teenage boy that moves to a small town and falls in love with Hannah who lives next door, played by Odeya Rush, and is conveniently Mr Stine’s daughter.
In a bid to win her heart, Zach accidentally brings to life all the classic Goosebumps characters, unleashing the ghouls from R.L’s books on their town, and it’s up to Zach, Hannah and her dad to put an end to them. It is very reminiscent of another Nineties cult classic, Jumanji!
While the film is kid-friendly (and probably won’t ignite the same fear it did back in the day), we must admit we are very excited by the new trailer!
Prepare to be (mildly) spooked by the trailer in the video player above.
