There’s nothing we love more than a nostalgic throwback, minus the existential dread induced by the realisation that time is slipping by much too fast, of course.
So try to quash your panic and embrace the excitement when we tell you it’s been 10 years since iconic film Tomorrow When The War Began was released.
The Australian teen drama, based on the books by the same name, became an instant hit and featured an all-star cast, including Phoebe Tonkin and Lincoln Lewis.
In celebration of the milestone, Lincoln shared a series of throwback photos that have our teenage hearts screaming.

“It’s been 10 years since tomorrow when the war began was released + also since we were all in the same spot together so I’m stoked that over the last 12 months we had a full cast zoom meet & I’ve been able to catch up with the fellas at different times in person 😎”
Not much has changed between the close friends and cast mates.

“The friendship and banter hasn’t changed a bit, now I’m just wondering when we’ll be taking another album cover…?” he asked.
The entire cast reunited earlier this year via a video call, much to fans’ delight, where they also addressed that question.

(YouTube)Given the book series featured several novels, it was safely assumed by fans, and even the cast, that there would be sequels to the film.
“You’re f–king telling me [it was a sure thing],” responded Andrew Ryan, who played outcast of the gang, Chris Lang, when the much-asked fan question arose.
“It would’ve been nice to do it again,” Deniz Akdeniz, who played Homer, added.
“It’s even worse when Stuie [Director, Stuart Beattie] is on set telling you how awesome the next one’s going to be.”
Fans have been waiting, and waiting for the sequel.
(Supplied)Despite planning to create a sequel, Stuart revealed exactly why it never came to fruition.
“We always planned to make three films then spin off into a television series,” Stuart confirmed.
“They botched the release around the world, so it didn’t make enough money.”
A reunion could still be on the cards however, with Stuart adding: “If you were going to do it now, you’d make it 10 years later.”
So we’ll be here, crossing our fingers, hoping another 10 years doesn’t pass before we get the sequel we all deserve!
