In Boulevard, Robin Williams portrays a devastatingly lonely closeted gay man, who is married to a woman, played by Kathy Baker.
The film follows his character, Nolan Mack, coming to terms with his sexuality after a chance meeting a young gay hustler.
“Nothing turned out the way I thought, I guess,” Robin’s shy and repressed character poignantly reveals about his life in the stirring preview.
Lasting only a minute and 40 seconds the trailer is dramatic, intense and confrontational – it will no doubt leave you reeling.
After being shown at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival, the late actor’s performance is already being hailed as “one of the best of his career.”
The motion picture’s irreverent message is: “It’s never too late to start living the life you truly want.”
Critics have suggested that the Oscar winner’s captivating portrayal comes from being able to tap into the real-life loneliness he was experiencing.
After a life-time of silent struggles with the painful mediocrities of his life, Nolan Mack begins a journey of self-discovery and openness as he faces the most frightening of all realisations: coming to terms with the most honest version of himself.
The moving trailer concludes with the most heart-wrenching message, “If life is moving in the wrong direction, there’s always time to make a U-turn.”
