Earlier in the year, we were treated to a short snippet of the talented duo’s new film and now the full trailer has finally arrived – it’s a happy day indeed!
The premise of the comedy is simple – two dysfunctional sisters come back to their family home as their parents prepare to move out and decide to throw one final party in the hopes of re-living their glory days.
What could possibly go wrong?
Well, everything! From questionable outfits with “under teet”, to gatecrashers, a fire and even a visit from the police.
“Isn’t it a shame that you never had your night here?” Jane (played by Tina) questions.
“We cannot throw a party,” Amy’s character Maura responds. Cue the shameless debauchery from a group of adults that should know better.
Maya Rudolph, John Leguizamo and John Cena will be joining the star-studded cast.
Both Tina and Amy, who won legions of fans thanks to their hijinks on Saturday Night Live, will be producing the movie while Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) is the director.
The highly-anticipated flick marks Tina and Amy’s fourth feature film collaboration after teaming up for the insanely funny Baby Mama, cult classic Mean Girls and the 2002 comedy Martin & Orloff.
Sisters will hit Australian cinemas on January 7, 2016 and we are counting down the seconds to that glorious day.
